DEMONBABIES AT XGAMES 13

Hey kiddies! I know I have been lagging on the posts lately…but I have been wrapped up in so many projects that my eyes have turned into Hyper-Color swirlies!! The other week, your friendly neighborhood Demonbaby was up in the X-Games. I was invited by Global Inheritance to come down to the Athletes Lounge and do a live painting on a recycling bin in hopes to encourage recycling.

It was a super time! Gotta love free foods, arcade games and silly looking extreme sports celebrities. The shitty thing about it was I didn’t have time to check out any of the events. I wish I was there the day before to witness Jake Brown bust a 720 then fall 40 ft down, so hard it knocked his shoes off his fuckin’ feet!!! Crazzzy!

MATT & KIM VS. FLOSSTRADAMUS VS. DEMONBABIES

Around September of last year, I got together with a group of friends to build a Demonbabies Muppet. The idea was to have a segment on my Public Access Show where a band performs all the while hosted by a Muppet version of my signature demonbabies character. Well, after filming I had some technical roadblocks with the way the green screen came out. On top of that, a couple weeks later
Matt & Kim shot a video for ‘Yea Yeah’, which is the song they performed, and it was released on MTV. I didn’t really want to put it up on the internet with the other video buzzing around….so I had to ponder many long hours about how to conquer this video. Finally, I decided I’d rework the video utilizing the Flosstradamus remix of the track…and incorporate them as well. So….after a long hiatus….here is the video….check it out!!

ROLLER ROCK!

How fucking cool was it to go to the roller rink?! Disco lights, super jams, Pac-Man, pizza slices and that super cute girl from 1st period that you were afraid to talk to. Roller disco’s were huge in the late 70’s…but my reign was in the late 80’s where jams like this one ruled the rollerworld! But I must say my true love was for the late 70’s / early 80’s era. The design, the fashion, the art….the style….truly truly FUNKTAFRIED!!!! Dig on this Roller Disco jam from 1979.

I was familar with Ian Clark’s work through Le Car, Ian’s electronic project with Adam Lee Miller of Adult., but never got around to checking it out. Don Herbert aka Mr. Wizard has passed on to the cosmos. He was 89. Man, I remember watching him blow shit up on Nickelodeon back in the 80’s. Where else was I going to learn how to stick a needle through a balloon without it popping?! RIP.
