If you haven’t seen BVD yet. I highly suggest you drop what you are doing and do so. Hell, why not just have a Russ Meyer double feature, back to back with this classic…

What can I say?? Belgian punk rock at it’s best! Peep Plastic Bertrand on the drums!

Ok. Holy Shit!
Around 1980, I used to wake up super early, pour me a ridiculous bowl of Alpha-Bits and flick on the hypnotic televoid screen to tune into a bizarre children’s program entitled, Hot Fudge. Wow, what a trip! Kinda like if Dr. Teeth from the Muppet Show started tappin some of that Joan Ganz Cooney ass! You know, the two lovebirds, lying in bed, smoking some of that good shit when all of a sudden the good Dr. Teeth yells “HOT FUDGE, HOLY MOLEY!” That would be great! Actually, the show was created by Bob Elnicky and Barry Hurd out of Detroit in 1976. It ran a good four year run, first locally then syndicated to affliate stations across the United states. I believe it remained in the rerun zone for a good couple of years after 1980…never to be seen again. Local jingle king, Larry Santos was the host for a majority of the show along with some freaky-deaks such as SEYMOUR, GLEN DENVER and of course THE CAZ, who was like the Muppet version of The Fonz. This was all topped off with the amazingly funktrafied music of ELECTRIC FUZZ! Hot Damn! I thought I would never see the likes of this show again. I’ve been praying to the metal gods and they have given me a taste of blood! Check out SEYMOUR playing a trick on AMANDA CARUTHERS(?) then dig the grooved out “Holey Moley” segment! Is that some Billy Preston shit there?! It’s all topped off with a few seconds of an old HONEYCOMBS commercial! Shit. Now I am thirsty for more…perhaps a DVD release?
